The report, "The Costs of Caregiving: Why Supporting Grandfamilies & Kinship Care is Good for Children and Our Nation’s Economy" highlights the critical role these caregivers play in supporting children, families, and our nation’s child welfare system, as well as the challenges they face in doing so. 2025

The report, “Pathways to Success: K-12 Education Support for Kinship and Grandfamilies,” discusses how about 2.5 million children in grandfamilies and kinship families are impacted by educational challenges and actionable recommendations to improve their school support and services. 

The 2023 State of Grandfamilies Report - Building Resilience: Supporting Grandfamilies' Mental Health and Wellness aims to bring attention to the mental health and emotional wellness of grandfamilies, shed light on their resilience and challenges they face, and provide innovative solutions and resources to better support them. 

The 2022 State of Grandfamilies Report –  Together at the Table: Supporting the Nutrition, Health, and Well-Being of Grandfamilies includes the latest findings on grandfamilies facing high rates of hunger and food insecurity, as well as policy recommendations to help feed grandfamilies.

Generations United's annual report highlights and elevates the unique needs of kin caregivers who are the first line of defense for children during the pandemic and contains solutions to connect grandfamilies to critical supports.
